BallardWorks – Opening show David McGranaghan

Artist David McGranaghan is known locally as The Greenlake Painter, is best known for his landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Working directly from nature, his plein-air technique and love of Impressionism pervades a body of work spanning over five decades.

This exhibition will include numerous scenes of Green Lake in Seattle and the Washington coast that exhibit his love of light and color. David McGranaghan earned an MFA from the University of Washington in 1989 and a BFA from the State University of New York College at Buffalo in 1979. His artwork is included many collections including the Frye Museum, and have been featured in numerous solo, as well as group exhibitions through the Northwest and in New York.

McGranaghan’s work will accompanied by BallardWorks artists: Vickie Platts-Brown, who combines printmaking and collage to create intricate, whimsical and colorful pieces, Carolie Rose’s oil paintings outdoor scenery paintings, and Gareth Sweeny’s vibrant watercolors.

During Art Walk hours there will also be printmaking demonstrations
