Beginning Figure Sculpture: Sculpting What We Draw with Suzanne Head.
The practice of sculpting a live model is not only crucial for sculptors, but for those who draw and paint. Drawing and sculpting possess a symbiotic relationship; and understanding this can be a monumental step in one’s ability to represent the figure.
In this class, we will improve our understanding of proportion and anatomy through sculpting a nude model in the round. We will work on conveying specific actions and emotions by defining the figure’s gesture and expression. These studies will be sculpted in oil clay, and are yours to keep.
This three-day workshop, held November 1-3, 2019, is open to all levels. The cost is $300. Sign up at: https://www.whidbeyislandfas.com/workshops
