2021 Youth Arts application now open

Youth Arts Grant supports equitable access to arts and cultural learning opportunities for Seattle’s Middle and High School aged youth. Programs occur outside of school hours and are led by experienced teaching artists working in communities to increase arts and cultural opportunities for young people from diverse racial and socio-economic backgrounds.

Data shows that the greatest disparities between young people who have access to arts education and those who don’t are based on race, socio economics, home language and disabilities. As with all of the Office of Arts & Culture’s Creative Youth Programs, Youth Arts Grant prioritizes programs serving young people within these demographics.

Eligibility: Individual teaching artists, art and cultural organizations, youth-service agencies, and degree-granting institutions are eligible to apply. Projects must take place between September 2021 – August 2022 and must be available for Middle and High School young people within Seattle.

Funding: Recipients will receive a total of $6,000 distributed over one (1) year for Youth Arts funding support (for programs in 2021-22). The $6,000 is available to support project expenses.
