Looking for a fun and challenging activity for your 3rd – 6th grader this summer?
Check out the Danaca Design art jewelry camp! This weeklong camp teaches REAL jewelry-making and metalsmithing techniques such as metal stamping, hammering, riveting and sawing!! Students will explore a variety of materials including copper and brass wire and sheet metal, and create a variety of jewelry pieces they can wear proudly. In addition, students will explore the fundamentals of composition and color theory all while learning to use basic jewelry hand tools all used every day in a jeweler’s studio. Nothing is quite as satisfying and empowering as saying, “I made this!” Who knew so much fun could be had with tools?! No experience necessary, returning students welcome.
Camp leader, Tegan Wallace, loves teaching jewelry making, especially at the elementary and middle school level. Every summer, we are astonished at what this age group can create with her superb guidance and enthusiasm. No one does it better!
