Plein air in watercolor taught by Carolyn Lord. The portability of watercolor makes it an ideal medium for plein air painting. This 3-day workshop will primarily be held outdoors, and we’ll use the studio for getting organized and familiar with the materials. There will be presentations and demonstrations on how to organize the watercolor palette; composition; painting strategies; interpreting complex motifs; importance of silhouettes; division between light and shadow.
Lord has painted in oils, and taken drawing workshops at ateliers so she is prepared to explain her painting concepts to artists who are new to watercolor.
This three-day workshop is open to all levels. The cost is $425. The workshop will be held June 4-6, 2021. Sign up at https://www.whidbeyislandfas.com/carolyn-lord.
