This will be an in-depth oil painting workshop focusing on Dan’s technique for painting the figure outdoors. His method provides a simple way to build a painting from start to finish while still allowing for creative expression along the way. Dan will discuss and demonstrate techniques to the group and also provide individual instruction.
The workshop will also review the fundamental principles of representational painting: drawing accuracy, design, value, color and edges, showing their importance to the time-honored practice of plein air painting.
The first 2 days will be in the studio with photo references and the next 2 days outside with a model.
This four day workshop, held July 12 to 16, 2017, is open to all levels. The cost is $550 plus a model fee. Register at: https://www.whidbeyislandfas.com/workshop-pay-dan-schultz.
