I am compelled to make art, and my love of and relationship with nature is the foundation of much of the art I create. Everywhere I look is a potential painting. Expressing peacefulness or love or passion by representing the beauty of landscape, animals, and people is what motivates me. I get excited by the process of putting color on a blank surface, the consistency of the paint, the feel of the brush stroke on the canvas, finding harmony between colors, capturing light, and seeing an entire scene come together. My intention is for the passion and excitement I feel while I’m creating that art to be felt by those who view it—and for my art to bring beauty to a life that may not always be beautiful.
